Our commitment

Eel by UnakiyoⅤ, a restaurant specializing in eel dishes, is carefully selected for each season of the highest quality from all over the country. In cooperation with Rice Meister, the rice that goes best with the eel is cooked hot in a clay pot. We serve eel in two different styles. One is Unaju, a style in which grilled whole eel is placed on the bowl of rice. The other is called "Unagi Mabushi", a style in which finely sliced grilled eel is placed on rice and eaten mixed with wasabi or other Japanese pepper and soup. Both are finished with different soy-based sauces to maximize the flavor of the eel's original ingredients. Enjoy the perfect harmony between eel and rice.

Space

UnakiyoⅤ, an eel restaurant, was born in Sekijuku, the 47th post town on the 53 Stations of the Tokai-do Road. An old traditional house along Sekijuku street, which is designated as Japan's "Important Preservation District for Groups of Historic Buildings," has been renovated and restored as an eel restaurant. The interior retains the beams and columns of the time while creating a simple, authentic space with a touch of flavor. Arranging flowers and leaves from nearby forest in the flower pot on our iconic large table, we look forward to your visit.
